My name is Karen Brown and I work as a professional photographer in Hobart, Tasmania.

As an experienced photographer I provide private and corporate photography sessions in a personal, natural and relaxed style. My photos are intimate, natural and beautiful. I try to capture the personality of a person or the romance and the fun moments of a wedding.

As a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience I have photographed countless weddings, babies, parents and grandparents, couples in love, hairdressing models, businessmen and buskers, politicians, aspiring models, singers and rock bands. Sorry, I only photograph people, I don't do products, cars. sport or real estate photography.

A bit about me: I am a 9th generation Tasmanian and I grew up in Hobart. As a child I spent a lot of time in the Tasmanian mountains and bush. Both my parents were keen adventurers, bush walkers and talented photographers. Even as a child I was photographing people and wild and beautiful places. I could hardly wait for the Kodachrome slides to arrive in their yellow box in our letter box. I began photographing seriously in my twenties and studied photography at the Tasmanian School of Art in Hobart. In the early 90’s I lived and worked in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 5 years. I established myself there as a successful free lance photographer. I photographed weddings and I had photos published as a best selling series of greeting cards in Holland. My photos can regularly be seen in ads on the back of buses and are also regularly featured in newspapers and magazines in Australia, The Netherlands and Denmark.

I run Karen Brown Photography with my partner Marcel van Ommen who takes care of the website, ICT and business affairs.
