Karen Brown Photography is a Climate Friendly Business

Hi, my name is Karen Brown. I am a wedding photographer from Hobart, Tasmania. I am very busy working as a wedding photographer but I also do a lot of portraits and corporate assignments.

Basically I am a People Photographer and whatever I do, I always try to photograph real people in a beautiful way.

I have 20 + years of experience in working professionally, I first studied photography at the Art School at the Univeraity of Tasmania and then went travelling around the world for a few years. I lived in Amsterdam for about 5 years before I returned to Australia.

I think I photographed my first (paid) wedding assignment back in 1991 when I was living in Amsterdam. Since then I have photographed countless weddings, children, parents and grandparents, business people, teachers, chefs and waiters, politicians, musicians and factory workers and many ordinary and not so ordinary people on quite a few of our planet's continents.

Basically I have always photographed people and I can't think of anything which could be more interesting!

I still really love working as a wedding photographer here in Hobart, and in everything I do I always enjoy capturing some of the excitement and the emotion of the occassion, be it a wedding or a portrait session.

I work together with my husband Marcel van Ommen who helps me manage Karen Brown Photography as a Climate Friendly Business, which basically means that we try to be a carbon neutral small business, following ethical business practices.
